Someone Needs Your Help - Now!

This comes from http://www.leukemiatshirtsandgifts.com/

I wrote this first for FB but it wouldn't post in my status. Perhaps it was the length. I left it though and copied it for here because each word is important. It involves helping someone out who has a serious problem that can be remedied with a rather simple and fairly easy solution. Please read it and feel free to pass it on through your blog if you happen to blog or by other internet means as mentioned at the bottom of the post. Thanks.

As you know I blog. That means I also follow other people's blogs. On one by a San Francisco blogger, photographer, design enthusiast, et al named Victoria Smith called http://sfgirlbybay.com/ (note there is no the in the name of the blog and no blogspot if you end up typing it in if their is a link problem) she is appealling to people to help a young man who is a friend of hers that has been diagnosed with acute leukemia.

She has a 1:14 video from YouTube up on her blog (Dec 1, 2011) Please watch it.

He desperately needs a bone marrow donation but unfortunately he is South Asian. It seems that South Asians are quite under-represented in the marrow donation system at the moment unfortunately. You can help change this though. FYI, for people who aren't South Asian but would still like to help, if you have friends that are Indian, Pakastani, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Bhutanese, Maldivian and Sri Lankan they would all be eligible to help. Please pass it on.

It is very easy to help. All a potential marrow donor needs to do is get a free kit that simply involves a cheek swab. You can register at http://www.marrow.org/

You can also donate money which goes to providing this test matching kits for free to make it simple and easy for people to do it without a thought.

Thanks, Carmen

P.S. If you would be willing to pass this along via the internet (FB, Twitter, YouTube, other) that would help considerably.

P.P.S. Go to the http://www.marrow.org/ site like I did to test the link & you will be stunned by with the statistic at the top of the home page that only half of victims receive the needed marrow.
